The horror spin-off will continue in 2022.

It was announced this evening that Fear the Walking Dead has been renewed for an eighth season. The news was delivered during the 'Talking Dead' episode that followed tonight's mid-season finale.
The zombie series, which began as a companion to 'The Walking Dead', has seen some significant changes over the years. Most of the original cast has departed and the current showrunners have altered its overall tone and storytelling style. The show's timeline has also gotten closer to the mothership series, with two stars of 'The Walking Dead' having now crossed over to Fear.
Tonight's announcement also brought word that original cast member Kim Dickens, who played Madison Clark through the first four seasons, will be returning in the second half of Season 7, which is set to premiere in April. She will then continue as a series regular in Season 8, which should return in late 2022.

Used to like this show and original TWD but it's just too choppy and all over the place, I feel like I need a notebook to watch these shows because they go so long before going back to something going on

Cancel this show already! When Alicia and Morgan jumped off a 10 foot cliff into a lake and got away with no shots fired by the bad guys I finally had enough. It's like they are taunting us with how lazy they can write and still stay on the air. Shame on me for watching this long.

It's time for these walking dead shows to stumble off into the sunset. This show was actually good the season they killed off most of the original cast (though apparently not Madison) but then it got back into its familiar pattern of getting us to like the characters and then killing them off just for emotional impact. Cheap thrills.
And then in the last season the plot line has gone off the rails...

Lucy - totally agree. They let news out early to try and drum up buzz but don't leave many major events for devoted fans to be surprised by. I would have much preferred that Madison's return be completely out of the blue.

To Eddie G: I agree 100%. I am just guessing that ratings were dropping and they wanted to create a buzz with this news and get a big bump in ratings for her return episode. I enjoy watching all the TWD show and I hope Victor crowns himself "King of the World" on this one.

How the @#$%@#$ did they think it was ok to spoil Madisons return like that? Why would they do that? That is the absolute DUMBEST thing ive seen out of this show. I would have loved to just be watching in the BAM! Madison pops up. What a waste of a major, epic suprise, smh

GOOD NEWS !!! This show is not perfect. Too many characters. Time to thin the herd with the cast. Pun intended. Go victor !!!

Gets better each year and some of the season 4+ characters are some of the best in the whole franchise.

Good. The show has had it's ups and downs but I enjoy it. I had a feeling Madison would be back since they never really showed her death.

Just, wow. Used to be heavily involved in all things TWD, but this show got ridiculously bad and I pulled the plug 2.5 seasons ago. This show should have ended long before that.
