The episode count increases for 2016.
July 31, 2015
With the series premiere of Fear the Walking Dead less than a month away, AMC today confirmed its plans for the show's second season. The network had originally commissioned two seasons back in March, but we now know that the episode count will more than double from six episodes in Season 1 up to 15 for Season 2.
Look for the series debut of Fear the Walking Dead on Sunday, August 23 at 9:00pm with a special 90-minute episode. Season 2 will return in 2016.

Hey Marco, funny how Caucasians make up 78% of the population but racist ignorant sheeple like you seem to think that more than 20% Caucasians without the rest of the cast being "minorities" in a show is racist. Get educated
Now that that is off my chest, It is really tiresome having 6 shows for a first season

I hate to say it but this is how they do their shows in England. 6 or 8 episodes to test the waters then more later. It seems to have infected our genres of viewing. It was even done with Agent Carter to name another and that's scheduled return.

Too hasty.
Season 1 hasn't even aired yet. There's no way they could possible be 100% certain if this show would ping with the viewers or not.

While Im very happy this show was greenlit for a second season but I dont understand how they can make the same mistake they did with OG Walking Dead by only giving us 6 freaking episodes. I mean isnt this franchise BEYOND proven?! At LEAST give us 12!

I have always wondered why they don't do 20 episodes of
the walking dead' it's the biggest hit show on tv. And this means more episodes for rerun purposes. And of course the main stars will eventually grow tired of the show probably. They should have done 16 on this show from the start. It's going to be huge success.

So many zombies and so little time. I just hope they don't get crazy and do a dozen spinoffs like CSI and Law and Order.
