The superhero drama will continue in 2022-2023.

The CW announced today that The Flash has been picked up for a ninth season. The good news comes seven episodes into Season 8 of the long-running action drama.
Currently sitting at 158 episodes, the series is one of the longest-running superhero-based TV shows of all time. With today's renewal, it will surpass the 170 episodes that 'Arrow' tallied during its eight seasons on the air.
The Flash follows forensic scientist Barry Allen, who fights crime using his speedster abilities as The Flash, with help from his friends at Star Labs. Based on the DC comic, the series takes place in the same universe as fellow DC-based superhero fare on the network.
Look for Season 9 of The Flash during the 2022-2023 season.

I agree with the other comments. This show needs to end. It has jumped the shark.

Loved the first three seasons. Was ok with the fourth and fifth. Been painful to watch since. Much like Supergirl a really good show turned awful.

The only episodes that are any good anymore are the ones with Nora and Bart. Please put this show to rest.
