The veteran superhero drama will continue in 2021-2022.

The CW announced today that The Flash has been picked up for an eighth season. The good news comes early, as Season 7 of the action drama doesn't premiere until next month.
Currently sitting at 133 episodes, the series has had a longer run than most other superhero-based TV shows. Depending on the length of the next two seasons, it will likely surpass the 170 episodes that Arrow tallied during its eight seasons on the air.
The Flash follows forensic scientist Barry Allen, who fights crime using his speedster abilities as The Flash, with help from his friends at Star Labs. Based on the DC comic, the series takes place in the same universe as fellow DC-based superhero fare on the network.

Barry the most popular beta male on tv. I mean, I've worke in Hollywood and I'd bet this character has taken more steely dans up the keister than I could count on four hands.

Still think this show moved way too fast. Would’ve been nice to see him have everyday adventures while fighting than having him obsess over Iris so quickly... that story with their daughter was awful and the fact that literally every person besides their team ends up being bad is a snooze. But for some reason I’ve kept watching and still will. C’est la vie
