It is being reported that The CW has cancelled Legacies after four seasons. The news comes ahead of the drama's Season 4 finale on June 16, which will now serve as its series-ender.
Premiering in 2018, the drama acts as a follow-up to 'The Vampire Diaries' and 'The Originals'. Legacies focuses on a group of young adults including Hope Mikaelson, the 17-year-old 'tribrid' daughter of Klaus and Hayley, and Lizzie and Josie Saltzman, Alaric Saltzman's twin girls. These young vampires, werewolves, and witches are coming of age in unconventional ways - on the road to becoming the heroes or villains they are meant to be.
Today's cancellation of Legacies sees the long-running vampire franchise come to an end after 13 years on The CW. 'The Vampire Diaries' started it all in 2009 as a breakout hit on the network. Spin-off 'The Originals' followed in 2013, leading to Legacies five years later. Altogether, the three shows aired a total of over 330 episodes.

Im not that surprised with the whole Hope/Landon never getting back together thing and Kaylee Bryant (Josie) leaving the show. I guess suddenly theres no inevitability of the whole Gemini coven merger issue anymore. They strayed from the monster of the week thing too long ago and it seemed to lose direction a bit more n more.

Why!! :( TVDU is the only reason the CW was still watched in my house. Well besides for legends and flash but that another story. They better not do this show dirty with the finale

I have watched the series starting with the vampire diaries in 2009 all the way through. I really hope they give it a proper send off and end the storyline properly. They more than deserve it!

I think the monster of the week format got old really quick. They didn't have a strong enough storyline to back that format like with a show like Buffy or Supernatural.

This one actually hurt. It is a show that I still enjoy watching and seeing it get cut without a proper send off is lame. How did this show get cut over Riverdale? Riverdale has been a mess to me (my opinion) since they did the time skip.

Considering that all of Warner Media is going behind paywall with HBO Max, I’m not surprised that all of these shows have been cancelled. I’m more surprised that they has a show or two that survived the Purge of 2022.

CW is cleaning house lmao. After all these cancellations (& after flash finally ends - need to hurry up) might as well cancel this network for good. I want nothing more than to witness the fall of CW just sucks so many good shows getting canned and people losing jobs..

Never seen so many legacies cancelled in one day. Is it over? Thankfully, I didn't watch any of em..
