No Season 5 for the sci-fi drama.
November 4, 2022
It is being reported that HBO has cancelled Westworld after four seasons. The news comes two months after the sci-fi drama wrapped its now-final run.
Headlined by an A-list cast along with big-name producers and high-quality production values, the series premiered in 2016 and made its mark by becoming HBO's most-watched debut series of all time. While each season has garnered a healthy amount of critical praise, viewership has continued to slip considerably during the past two seasons.
Today's cancellation is unfortunate for long-time fans of the big-budget series, as its story will go unfinished. Co-showrunner Jonathan Nolan said when questioned just last month that he had always planned on a fifth and final season.
Based on the 1973 film of the same name, Westworld is a dark odyssey that takes place in the near future, with a re-imagined past, during the emergence of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin.

I'm astonished... it took them so long to cancel this utter mess after the first season.
That said, the woke-obsessed OP is really funny. Plus they don't know the difference between it's and its. They'll probably think "its" is woke too!

This show was always good and different , not lost. It was ecclectic and watchible. Unlike sandman which I struggle through because it is so wierd. M.. Hbo should have finished the show.

Netflix is in no financial position to buy up anything. Hulu is not that big of a streaming service. Had Hulu for 4 months -watched the shows I wanted and then cancelled. Had Netflix for 6 years - cancelled because of all their woke alphabet shows.

Season One was good. Seasons 2 and 3 were stupid. Watched one episode of Season 4 and I was done.
I was happy to see this cancelled - long overdue.

If you like sci-fi you like sci-fi, if you like westerns you like westerns however either audience doesnt necessarily like the other audiences material. That, to me, was how it went going from a stellar season 1 sci-fi epic to a season two western.
Sure still hosts, sure still the park but despite the title of Westworld it was like it switched shows to a spin off. I gave it 7/10 for season 2 but from there, from season 3 im with the other commenters, it went straight down hill.
Season 4 ended up being such a complete wtf I dont blame the audience for giving up on it, it was a hard watch even for this long time sci-fi fan, if only theyd focussed more on the park rather than world domination then maybe theyd have retained the bigger audience but it is what it is. Farewell to yet another rich imaginary world, you will be missed even if you did lose yourself on the way.

Season 1 started off with a really cool concept, it maybe suffered from a tiny bit of a slow burn. After season 1 the show just got more and more lost. Even with season 1 I at times struggled a bit to get through the episodes.

Loved it in season one. The second was already a step back. Gave up two episodes into season three and never looked back.

Not a surprise. The writers did not make it easy on the viewer. Leaving the park changed the show so much. Nolan planned for a final season and would have returned it to the park. I was hoping we might get as shortened season.

I watched every episode. Season one was great. Seasons two and three were ok. They should have stopped there probably. I did not like or hate season four. It did seem like work a little bit. I am not disappointed. Kinda relieved actually.

I loved season 1, but completely gave up during season 2.
