The veteran reality series will return next summer.
November 9, 2023
CBS is bringing back Big Brother for a 26th season. The news was announced by host Julie Chen Moonves following tonight's finale, which crowned the reality show's first ever Sikh winner.
On the air for over two decades, the veteran series continues to be one of TV's top-rated reality shows. Airing three nights a week, its episodes consistently draw solid viewership against its prime time competition.
In each season of Big Brother, a group of people move into a house together under the watchful eye of dozens of cameras that record their every move 24 hours a day. Each week a houseguest is voted out until just one remains, receiving a $750,000 grand prize.
Look for Season 26 of Big Brother in the summer of 2024, with Julie Chen Moonves once again returning as host.

They’re doing a better job casting now with more ages, races, and body types, but they haven’t adjusted the game for that.

YESSS!! I totally agree with this comment. Hopefully TPTB will make an effort to make it more equitable. Hopefully.

Big Brother is my favorite show and it has been for years, but it’s becoming increasingly frustrating how much the show boils down to competitions now. Season 25, especially the second half of the game, was completely dictated by who could win the competitions. It didn’t matter how much Cirie could mastermind or how much Cory could plan as long as there was a Cameron, Jag, or Matt to win the competitions and always have the power. So many of these games don’t need a physical component. The one Double Eviction Veto that Matt won, required him to take 7 trips to get his 4 balls in. Cirie and Felicia each had 3 trips total. It was physically impossible for them to win that. America had 4 trips, so she would have had to have gotten perfect shots every time.
The same thing happened in Big Brother Canada last season. It’s fine to do some physical competitions, but there are a disproportionate number of them now, and the 63 year old is not going to have a shot against a 27 year old Olympian. They’re doing a better job casting now with more ages, races, and body types, but they haven’t adjusted the game for that.

I have been watching since Season 1 and I have to agree with Sandwich it has gotten lazy and formulaic. Nothing exciting anymore and for the love of all things normal, can they stop wanting to vote one person off but decide to "vote with the house" like some brainless zombies!! Annoying.

I meant Golden Big Brother...but Survivor too. See, I'm eligible myself!

I'd like to see Golden Survivor, with veto competitions like trying to recall 3 words, or who can stay up past 7 pm.

It's lazy production made as if the audience is full of no-memory idiots. Every aspect of a season if OVERLY spelled out after 25 seasons. They overly explain what HOH means, what the vetos is, how the same exact competitions for 25 seasons are played. Having houseguest REPEATEDLY explain EVERY competition in (scripted) diary room session is, at this point, ludicrous. THis show needs to take a lesson from Survivor.. SHOW THE DAMN COMPETITION rather than having houseguests explain what happened.
The ONLY unique thing about season 25 is there was now "slip n slide to fill the whatever" competition. It was replaced with the Pressure Cooker competition.
It's the SAME THING every single season.. barring season 23, the racist season. They cast the same, unexciting, boring, "vanilla" houseguests every season now.. for fear of liability. None of the competitors have any REAL personality. Then they throw in call backs to past seasons so they can make viewers feel some sort of nostalgia for when seasons were actually eventful and unique. It's a "sucker" show now.
This show is a zombie.. should have died years ago... but it keeps going.. 'cuz it's cheap to make.

I hate that she is Julie Chen Moonves now, when she wasn't before her husband got fired.

I watch this show. I can not help myself. I do hate that Julie has to build drama on Thursday when everyone knows who is going home. Stuff like "Bob hates Joe, but will he vote him out?" YES!!! And her sign-off. "Love one another." Dumb.
