The reality series will be back again next summer.
September 30, 2021
CBS has picked up Big Brother for a 24th season. The good news was announced by host Julie Chen Moonves following Wednesday's season finale, which crowned the reality show's first ever African American winner.
On the air for over two decades, the veteran series continues to be one of TV's top-rated reality shows. Airing three nights a week, its episodes consistently draw solid viewership against its prime time competition.
In each season of Big Brother, a group of people move into a house together under the watchful eye of dozens of cameras that record their every move 24 hours a day. Each week one houseguest is voted out of the house until just one remains, receiving a $500,000 grand prize.
Look for Season 24 of Big Brother in the summer of 2022, with Julie Chen Moonves once again returning as host.

Competition may be real... the 5 minutes they show of them (unless it's a "questions" competition). But the padding of 30+ minutes of houseguests sitting the diary room explaining the competition is absolutely scripted. It's uninteresting to watch 30 minutes of diary room talking .. they need to simply shoe the fucking competition. Sure they can edit it for time in some cases.. but listening the explanations of the obvious is just stupid.
And.. how about some CREATIVITY.. 23 seasons and the SAME COMPETITIONS every year. Come on... The US version could learn a thing or two by watching Big Brother from other countries.

@Nudink - providing any sort of evidence or answering a simple question would provide more merit to your comments. Otherwise you're just as foolish as those you scorn. As far as the scripted comment, anything can become "scripted" when you have show creators poring through thousands of hours of footage. They can create whatever narrative they want. Perhaps that is what confused you?

@Z: QED. I don't suffer fools gladly.

This show is not scripted. If it was, they would have a script as that is the literal definition of scripted. Are people encouraged to say certain things? I'm sure they are but that doesn't qualify for the show to be labeled as scripted.

@Nudnik This isn't a reality show, it's a competition show. I think there is a very distinct difference. Although I am curious, what "reality" shows do you think are better?

It's scripted yes, but the competitions are real. They may be fixed for certain contestants, but they are real competitions.

It's the worst of all the "reality" shows. Completely scripted. People who find this garbage entertaining are fools. And yes there are a lot of them.

This season was definitely racist. That being said, it was a brilliant strategy. The down side is the next time 2 or more people of the same ethnicity try working together or simply have a conversation, the other houseguests will think about the Cookout. The Cookout will hurt all future minority contestants. PS maybe round out the cast a little more in the future. Perhaps get more interesting people. Besides Tiffany and the 2 Dereks, the other players were dull !!!

Despite being a long-time fan of the show, I have to admit I didn't even make it to when jury started. It was partially due to the time commitment required that I just didn't have to give this summer, but it was also because of the Cookout alliance.
I can see the justification. While I do find the mentality of eliminating everyone not like them to be racist, it is also somewhat understandable for people who perceive each other to have similar backgrounds to be seen as more trustworthy. My problem comes in that in the future, people are going to want to prevent this from happening again, and it is going to become even more us vs. them than it is now. Anytime a black HG is targeted the cries of racism will come, but they did it to themselves. I'm concerned by what future seasons will look like.
