The veteran reality series will return next summer.
October 13, 2024
CBS has picked up Big Brother for a 27th season. The news was announced by host Julie Chen Moonves during tonight's season finale, which crowned the reality series' latest winner.
On the air for over two decades, the veteran series continues to be one of TV's top-rated reality shows. Airing three nights a week, its episodes consistently draw solid viewership against its prime time competition.
In each season of Big Brother, a group of people move into a house together under the watchful eye of dozens of cameras that record their every move 24 hours a day. Each week at least one houseguest is voted out until two remain. A jury of evicted houseguests then decide which of the two wins the $750,000 grand prize.
Look for Season 27 of Big Brother in the summer of 2025, with Julie Chen Moonves once again returning as host.

The only reason this type of show keeps getting renewed is because it can be produced on the cheap since the networks don't have to pay any actors; I truly think most cancel/renewal decisions are more about money rather than ratings. I prefer the short-form game shows such as "Let's Make a Deal" and "Price is Right" rather than this trailer trash.

Ghost Rider... I watch this show, I have a high IQ and I have a life. I am drawn to the competition and strategy. This and Survivor are different from other reality TV shows because they are competitions. You are 100% spot on about Julie though, she may be the worst host of any show I've ever seen. It's painful watching her week to week. If you can get past that, the show is fun to watch.

Who's watching this garbage? My guess is if you have a low IQ and no life, that you're a fan of this show. Also, why is Julie Chen still on network television? She is horrible. She's so bad that The Talk didn't want her any longer.

This season was very good until the last episode. Makenzy should never have taken Chelsea to the final two. She wins easily against Cam. Maybe 7-0. How Makenzy got no votes is mind boggling. She kicked ass! Dumbest move in Big Brother history was taking Chelsea. Cody at least came back to win after giving Derek an easy win. I would rather have 750,000 dollars than a new best friend. I bet they do not speak after 3 months. Chelsea should send MJ a card every birthday forever.

This show jumped the shark a decade ago. When it started it was a pretty legit competition. It showed all the competitions and consequences that the players went through.
Now, it's all about casting and making sure there is going to be crazy drama. Then the drama takes center stage and the competitions get a lot less air time, and you rarely see the consequences if the Have/Have Not competition.
But it's cheap to make and gets enough ratings that they keep it on the air. I don't even remember the last season I watched.
