No Season 9 for the CBS drama.
March 6, 2025
Word is out that CBS has cancelled S.W.A.T. after eight seasons. The news comes with nine episodes remaining in what will be the drama's final run after what has been a bumpy last couple of years.
The series premiered in 2017 and established itself as a reliable performer for CBS until it was unexpectedly cancelled in 2023 after six seasons. A few days later the network reversed its decision with a renewal for a seventh and final season. That move was eventually walked back as well, with an eighth-season renewal a year later. This time, however, the cancellation will likely be the end of the series for good.
"It's heartbreaking news, primarily because it's been such an immense pleasure working with this cast and crew to put out a show that we've always been proud of," executive producer and showrunner Andrew Dettmann said in a statement. "They are truly an extraordinary group of people who have all worked so hard and have been so dedicated for all these eight seasons, overcoming countless challenges. I can't give them enough credit. I feel so privileged to have been a part of the S.W.A.T. family."
Shemar Moore stars in the Los Angeles-based series, which follows a former Marine tasked with running a specialized tactical unit that acts as the city's last stop in law enforcement. Raised on the streets, he is torn between his loyalty to his roots and his allegiance to his new brothers in blue as he works to bridge the divide between his two worlds.

I agree with Steve. The show has run its course. Too many new characters. Not a fan anymore. I record it..and it's always the last one for me to watch. I don't understand how the hell fire country keeps getting renewed. It's so cringe..acting horrible. Many great shows have been cancelled over the years. Alaska Daily and E. New York were amazing

CBS is canceling all my show. Now I have to wait for my last two favorites to see if they get renewed. Shameful CBS is slowly losing my viewership.

Has anyone seen Amy Risenbach speak? She Is the phoniest person that does not represent anyone, but profits and overhead. a corporate lapdog. I do not think she represents anything but money. Also her shows based on people of color are demeaning. Thank God Cedric is funny, but this is not a show represseningt people of color. Shemar Moore is a very good actor. He will bounce back. P. S. Still pissed about Seal Team. I am not saying CBS is racist, but I am not saying that it is not either.

Fuck CBS. I have not watched one new show since the cancellation of Blue Bloods. Swat was my last show on CBS. I knew this would happen when Fire Country and all the shows were renewed days ago and Swat was not. Fuck you Amy!
