Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is getting better and better. Joss has a well known track record of developing shows that gradually gain a loyal and consistent following. Even Firefly, which was terminated waaaay too soo, has gained a loyal following and is a cult icon, now. Agents will gradually get there. As to those who don't like the cast, I think they did a pretty good job. They are all still growing into their roles and extended guest shots like Colby Smulders help. Ward, however, is the resident hunk and it is problematic making him a bad guy .. a specific portion of the audience likes cheering on a likeable, good looking, piece of beefcake. Ming-Na is good as May and it might be good to soften her character a little as time goes on. She fulfills the Joss W's penchant for having at least one kick ass female (Buffy, River, etc). Again, Weedon, usually allows his characters to grow organically and show their humanism over a number of episodes. I just hope the viewing public doesn't have such a short attention span that they don't allow these characters to become flesh.

This is Joss' style. He starts off slow - building a story line, and then it gets exciting like the last couple episodes with Hydra and Ward becoming a villain. While Skye still isn't my cup of tea, the cast definitely needs a person of her skill set.. though maybe not one with her acting persona.
The only problem with his way of storytelling is networks (like fox...ahem...firefly) don't give him a chance and they cancel them too soon. If they cancelled this show mid season I wouldn't have thought anything of it. If they cancel it now I would be highly disappointed.

I got nothing against the show. But it needs to recast its actors. When you watch shows you wanna believe the characters and what their doing. The only likeable character on this show is agent coulson. The rest comes off as annoying brats that think they're james bond. They try to help the show by adding in sub characters from major super hero movies (thor, capt america) but even then, it feels like they aren't being successful. Renewed season won't make a difference because it'll be the same lame cast.

I am sorry for my last comment for I am a low of dumbass who can't get head out of my vagina because this show isn't about the quality or such. This show is good, the storyline is awesome showing what agents could do fighting villains who are not superheroes or what not. God bless America!!

The show is on ABC that has always been terrible at planning and airing shows. It's the networks' fault.

I gave up on Agent's of L.A.M.E. 7th episode in. I understood that there wouldn't be superheroes in the show and was fine with it... Arrow doesn't have 'superheroes' and manages to do very well... perhaps that is because of the writing and understanding audiences of today.
AoL doesn't seem to have writers, unless they are from the Disney channel, because the stories are so watered down and convoluted that it boggles me that this is done by Joss Whedon.
Someone here stated that this will probably end up another Firefly. No. No it won't. Firefly had great writing, likeable characters and actors and something of a storyline... AoL has none of those qualities.
