A drama following a woman sent back in time from 1945 to 1743.
Claire Randall is a stubborn, yet lovely, combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously sent back in time to the year 1743. There, she is thrust into an unknown world that could threaten her life.
When she is forced to marry chivalrous Scottish warrior Jamie Fraser, it ignites a passionate affair that tears Claire's heart between two very different men.

Love, love love this show binge watched season one in one day, you can't miss this show all actors are very well cast love Jamie and Claire. Very graphic love scenes and rape of Jaime very hard to watch.

I don't care that this came from a book. Having to watch that guy get literally butt raped was enough for me. There are much better series on than this depressing POS.

Okay, I found I didn't know what I was talking about in previous posts. I just found that STARZ blew away tradition and did season 1 in 2 seasons. So season 1 from 8/16/14 to 9/27/14 then a 7 month break continuing season 1 on 4/4/15 to 5/30/15. So, now I have read that season 2, from the second book in the series "Dragonfly in Amber" and season 2 is scheduled to premiere in April 2016. So, I have been sweating over if it was going to get renewed for 2016, when it already was. So, I am wondering if this means we are all set for the continuation of season 2 in 2017.

I couldn't imagine Starz not renewing this incredible show for a 3rd season!! Plus that would be extremely cruel seeing as book 2 ends on such a major cliffhanger! Can't wait for season 2, 2016 can't get here fast enough! As much as I'm looking forward to the new season though.. what I'm most interested in seeing is the news that were getting a 3rd season (Voyager is my 2nd favourite book in the Outlander series). This series is definitely worth your time to check out the location, story-line, characters, music, clothes, acting, and chemistry between Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe is all phenomenal! Best show & best book imo!

Actually, Elizabeth, I just checked on STARZ and season l is still available there till 7/8. They numbered them strangely. Instead of having season 2 start with 201, they just kept it going from the end of season 1 at 108, making the start of season 2 109 ending at 116. So, regardless of what they said about 13 episodes, they made each season 8 episodes.

Elizabeth: When you click on the renewal link you need to look at the top of the screen. That renewal notice was made in August 2014, meaning it was the notification that they had renewed Outlander for a 2nd season. So, the season ending in May 2015 was season 2 and I am anxiously waiting on news that it has been renewed for a 3rd season. If you missed season 1 and have Netflix, season 1 is for rent. You should go back and watch it if possible.

They are taking a long time to renew this. I hope that doesn't mean they won't.

I am sooo excited that they decided to make Diana's books into a television series. I found the books 1st and fell in love with the entire 8+ book series (very very addictive) and then I found out that they were making the show. I was so excited...in seventh heaven right now. I really appreciate them keeping the storyline so close to the book (so far)
