A reality competition where teams race each other around the world.

The Amazing Race is a multi-Emmy Award winning reality series where teams of two race around the world with the goal of winning the grand prize of $1,000,000.

Along the way, teams must perform various tasks known as "Roadblocks" or "Detours" that usually integrate the culture of the country where the task is taking place.

In many cases each team has a unique relationship that is focused on as the race progresses. At the end of each episode, or leg, of the race, the team in last place is usually eliminated. The exception being if that particular leg has been predetermined as a non-elimination leg.
