The globetrotting competition will be back in 2023-2024.

CBS announced today that The Amazing Race has been picked up for a 35th season. The good news comes two months after the reality competition crowned its Season 34 winner.
The show appears to be back on track after the coronavirus pandemic resulted in filming interruptions that caused the show to not air a season in 2021. It made up for it, though, by airing two seasons in 2022. While a team did test positive for COVID-19 in Season 34, they were removed from the race without affecting production.
Look for Season 35 of The Amazing Race as part of the 2023-2024 season.

I LOVE this show. Last season's locations were absolutely stunning.
THAT being said I do think they need to make the challenges HARDER just like the painting challenge last season where they had to shuffle several frames to recreate an artwork. Challenges are the equalizers (and so is booking tickets but that's not possible for now) and if it is too easy just like a lot of challenges last season, it's pretty easy to predict who will win the leg already.

Great news! Pre-pandemic, this show was going downhill, with changes that caused friction between teams (for example, U-turns). Then there were the occasional out-of-the blue senseless mini-events towards the ends of legs that could easily upset the order of finish that normally would be based upon each team's performance at navigating, instruction-following, and at the roadblock and detour challenges. In the most recent season the U-turns and mini-events were gone, and the Amazing Race once again was about the best team winning. Loved it and looking forward to more of the same!

I never watched this show before last year. That being said, I think this is a fun competition show. The contestants do not seem mean, they just want to win. Also, Phil seems happy for teams that do well and sincere to eliminated teams.

In an increasingly dangerous world, it's becoming harder to keep this series going. The number of places they can safely send the teams just keeps narrowing.

@Lisa I understand the reasons for the shuttling and even the regional travel, and I'm not saying it was a bad idea. But if the world is going to open up, we need the show to do it, too. It's time to get back to normal, I think.

Chris I didn't even realize they stuck to regions. The shuttling part is because of COVID though, so I understand. I didn't mind it though - hey I live in Canada where Amazing Race Canada just races around our country! Talk about lame.

If they go back to a truly global race, then that's good. If they are just going to stick with regions like they did the last couple of times, I could do without. It's not the same show if they are being shuttled around most of the time.
