CBS announced today that The Amazing Race has been renewed for a 31st season. The early pickup is a nice bounce back for the reality series, which took until May to receive a renewal last year after being left on the bubble by the network.
On the air since 2001, The Amazing Race has been one of reality TV's strongest entries, winning numerous awards and garnering healthy ratings over the majority of its run. The show's momentum has slowed recently though, with CBS opting to only air one installment in each of the last two seasons rather than its typical two.

Happy to see The Amazing Race renewed for another season. I have been a big fan almost from the start. Season 30 was great. My only complaint was that CBS squeezed all the episodes so that season 30 was completed in less than 2 months with many of the later episodes running 2 hours. Would prefer to see the episodes spread out as before. But, hey, I'm glad that it continues on.

I'm glad to see it renewed, though it's become repetitive. I know they tried shaking things up this last season, but ultimately it all hings on the casting.
It's weird, with reality shows like Amazing, Survivor, and Dancing with the Stars you can get all wrapped up in the competition and who wins, yet a couple weeks after each season ends I couldn't pick the winners out of a lineup.

I used to watch every season of Amazing Race. Even though I am not that devoted any more, I am glad it was renewed. I love the globe travel shown and the editing is simply amazing. Those people deserve awards!
