The competition series will continue.
March 25, 2016
CBS has renewed The Amazing Race for the 2016-2017 season. On the air since 2001, the competition series has been one of reality TV's strongest entries, winning numerous awards and garnering healthy ratings over the course of its run.
If the show keeps to its two-a-year format, today's pickup will see it through to Season 30.

I really enjoy Amazing Race...I'd like to see former winner complete against one another...that to me would be awesome.

I am soooo glad they are renewing!! It is one of my favorite shows. I like the history lessons during the show and seeing places I have never been to (and probably never will get to). I find most of the episodes, end up a nail biting experience because I get so involved in the show!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally agree Pope, they need to revisit the early seasons and go back to that format.

I don't think they're skipping weeks by design, this happens every spring during March Madness! It's better than when it was on Sunday nights in the fall and football always messed up the start time!

Yeah Amazing Race has been sucking lately. It needs to get back on track and get better people on there. I've skipped this season to with the Social Media people. I'll tune in the fall again if it's a season worth watching.

I dislike how they are spreading the seasons out by skipping weeks repeatedly and it seems to have whittled down form 14-15 episodes to 10-12 episodes. I love the show, but this season with the YouTube people I could pass on, Social Media "fame" is NOT real "fame" people. I find these contestants a bit too self involved and solipsistic, unlike all previous seasons. Get some REAL people back and focus on the show more. Perhaps they are just extending themselves to much with the Canadian and Australian versions as well?? Or gotten too focused on product placement within the show. Producers should go back and re-watch the first couple of seasons to remind themselves of what made the show a hit.
