ABC has renewed Grey's Anatomy for a twelfth season. The long-running Shonda Rhimes medical drama has been on the air since 2005, remaining a strong Thursday night regular since its move there in Season 3. While ratings have slipped slightly in recent years, it remains one of the network's top dramas.

Grey's Anatomy joins nine other ABC dramatic series that were renewed today for the 2015-2016 season. Resurrection and newcomer Forever were today's drama casualties.

Best show ever the only way this show could be special is to let us know good things come to an end meaning the characters new interns seems the way to go

I've loved Grey's since the beginning, but it's totally time for it to end. I hate it when shows I love just keep going and going and eventually implode. The show won't be the same without Derek, and I doubt that any of the new interns will be that impressive. Just give it a nice, respectful ending instead of letting things drag on.

I don't mind that McDreamy is Now McDead, I did mind that it took so much screen time to get him there. I know this is a "CHICK" show but enjoy following the series with my wife. BTW we both agree they tend to [over] torture the tear jerk plot/scenes. The show needs to get back to the good balance of romance/drama/comic roots that made it good early on. At present rate, I predict the final season of Grey's will be 23 consecutive episodes of Meredeth kicking the can - filled with flashbacks of the seasons that came before.

These doctors are idiots...way more concerned with their personal drama than their hospital jobs. Yang was smart to get out when she could.
