The veteran medical drama will continue in 2022-2023.

ABC announced today that Grey's Anatomy has been picked up for Season 19. The good news includes a new one-year deal for star Ellen Pompeo to return as the show's title character.
On the air since 2005, the long-running Shonda Rhimes series continues to be a solid performer in ABC's Thursday night lineup. While its ratings are far from they were in its prime, the show still ranks as the network's top drama in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic. It's also the network's longest-running prime time scripted series of all time and the longest-running medical drama in TV history.
Grey's Anatomy follows Dr. Meredith Grey and her coworkers at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. The staff of attending physicians, residents, and surgical interns are faced with all types of medical cases, from trivial to life-threatening. While furthering their careers, they learn and grow from the patients they treat and the relationships they form with each other.
Look for Season 19 of Grey's Anatomy this fall as part of ABC's 2022-2023 lineup.

I stopped watching so many years ago. I forgot the name of the Asian actress who played one of the doctors, then went on to Killing Eve etc. There was an episode when she was outside with Ellen P's character, she slipped and fell on sidewalk and a giant icicle fell and impaled her. I remember thinking how stupid that was, deleting rest of episode and never watching again lol.

People complaining if you don’t like something you don’t have to watch . It needs to go to a 20th season and end.

I stopped watching this show about 10 years ago. It got to be repetitive & silly. There are so many better shows on now. This is a waste of time. The actors or phoning in their acting. Please make this end!!!

I want them to bring back calzona so we can actually have our happy ending with the beloved couple and the amazing Sophia Robbin Sloan Torres. We deserve to see them happy once again. How about Yang and Karev

This has always been one of my favorite shows. It's like watching a baby grow into adolescence for 17 years. And, like growth, there have been some difficult years along the way. But, it is enjoyable to watch the original characters evolve and the newer ones to fumble through their residencies. Plus, the show got a boost from new viewers being able to watch and fall in love with the original episodes via Netflix, but regardless of that, it stands on its own as solid, reliable entertainment. Also, since Ellen Pompeo became an executive producer of the show, the scripts have gotten better.

Ash, it just comes down to ratings. I think it still does well for ABC compared to its other offerings. I think they like pairing it with Station 19 as well... crossovers and such.

Why? Genuinely curious. I gave up on it so many years ago and even my friends who were diehard fans gave it up in the last two years.
Dear god why

Does ABC have nothing else? End it already.
