The long-running medical drama will continue in 2021-2022.
May 10, 2021
ABC announced today that Grey's Anatomy has been picked up for Season 18. The good news comes two years to the day after the veteran medical drama received a two-season renewal back in 2019.
Already the network's longest-running prime time scripted series of all time and the longest-running medical drama in TV history, today's pickup will see Grey's Anatomy reach the 400-episode milestone in 2022 - truly an impressive accomplishment.
On the air since 2005, the veteran Shonda Rhimes series continues to be a strong performer in ABC's Thursday night lineup. While its ratings are far from they were in its prime, the show still ranks as the network's top drama in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic.
Grey's Anatomy follows Dr. Meredith Grey and her coworkers at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. The staff of attending physicians, residents, and surgical interns are faced with all types of medical cases, from trivial to life-threatening. While furthering their careers, they learn and grow from the patients they treat and the relationships they form with each other.
Look for Season 18 of Grey's Anatomy this fall.

I'm with Otito and Rodger. I have not missed one episode in 18 years and I still like all the characters and still learn things from the show. It can go on for many more years and I'll still watch it. It is not a soap opera to me. I never could stand to watch those. No one is begging anyone who hates it to watch it. Haters gotta hate.

Ecstatically happy! I thought June 3, 2021 was to be the last episode. Now I understand why IMDB has a placeholder for Season 18, Episode 1. Yippee!!! I love this show. I have watched every episode and never tire of the storylines. Good news!

Omg why is it still going. The over the top drama. Who the hell would work at that hospital at least 7 doctors died there. They all have near death experiences well at least 1 a season. Meredith is a selfish asshole. Only 3 original cast members remaining. Even the second group are all gone. No mcdreamy, no mcsteamy, all mcdeady lol
Please no more.

I quit watching 3 seasons ago and I havenโt missed it. I quit watching Station 19 about 4 episodes ago. I am not missing it either.

Gave up on this at the end of season 19, it was just getting so ridiculous and apparently now itโs even more ridiculous! Might catch up one day if I have nothing to do but come on this show needs to end! You beat ER you can stop now!

They lost me for good last year. Maybe someday I'll finish it up, but the longer it goes on the less likely that will happen.

I'm so glad I gave up on this show long ago. I don't even remember what season I stopped watching, but Isaiah Washington had been fired and George was still alive. Thank goodness I didn't invest years just to watch favorite characters be killed off or destroyed, yet Meredith - the worst character from the very beginning - remains.

Penny - totally agree with everything you wrote. Especially the part about Meredith! Ha! She's a horrible person and I've never liked her character.
