The veteran medical drama stays hot.
February 10, 2017
ABC announced today that Grey's Anatomy has been renewed for an impressive 14th season. The long-running Shonda Rhimes hospital drama has been on the air since 2005, remaining a steady presence in the network's Thursday night lineup.
While ratings have dipped from the night-topping numbers it garnered in its heyday, Grey's remains one of ABC's top dramas. This current season has it ranked as the network's #1 show in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic, and the #3 drama on all of broadcast TV.
Grey's Anatomy joins other the Shondaland dramas picked up today that air as part of ABC's TGIT lineup, including Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder.

I fell in love with the series after binge watching on Netflix a cpl years ago. It has drop kicked me in the feels a cpl times during the series but it has honestly become stale. It's now a show I turn on while I'm cleaning house.

Have always loved Grey's...haven't liked it SEVERAL times over the years though. Happy it got renewed but they need to make some changes and tell a few people to go kick rocks. I cringe whenever Stephanie is on (was so happy when her cockiness killed that kid!), April is quickly becoming cringe worthy & last, but def not least, PLEASE kill off Minnick! Or at least send her to run a residency program in Siberia or somewhere far, far aaay. She (& the dynamics revolving around her) are ruining the show. I want to throw something at the tv several times an episode because of her.
In short: yay Grey's—boo Minnick, Stephanie & April.

I'm surprised it got renewed. I enjoy watching it from time to time but it's not as exciting as it used to be.
Getting kind of sick and tired of the same storylines time and time again, the will they or won't they. Maybe if the characters acted like actual adults instead of teens..

I enjoy the show on the whole, but I understand the frustrations of some. The characters are largely uninteresting, with the exception of Karev and maybe one or two others. And I'm kinda done with Jo and Kepner as well.
Shonda needs to find an end-game for this series or discover and develop a couple more characters people want to watch.

Glad it's been renewed! I remember when I actually looked forward to it every week which I don't really now, but I do always know it's going to be an easy, enjoyable hour of tv that I don't have to think too hard about & that makes me happy.

I loved Greys for the first 10 seasons, the last 3 have been a struggle. I do think it's getting near the end now. Like ER at the end it's getting old!
