July 31, 2015
With the series premiere of Fear the Walking Dead less than a month away, AMC today confirmed its plans for the show's second season. The network had originally commissioned two seasons back in March, but we now know that the episode count will more than double from six episodes in Season 1 up to 15 for Season 2.
Look for the series debut of Fear the Walking Dead on Sunday, August 23 at 9:00pm with a special 90-minute episode. Season 2 will return in 2016.

The three minute trailer actually gave me chills. As a huge walking dead fan I hate to say it, but this actually might be better in some ways!

Wil, Amc had done this before with spinoffs of their hot shows. They gave better call Saul two seasons before it even aired. Worked out well for that show as it was way better than anyone could have imagined. With the walking dead fan base it will be very very hard for this show to be a failure. It also looks uniquely different from what the walking dead has been from pretty much the get go. This appears to be the strain but with zombies.

How can a new season be confirmed if the first season has not started yet? Odd.
