The veteran drama will continue in 2019.
March 21, 2018
Hallmark Channel announced today that When Calls the Heart has been renewed for a sixth season. The long-running drama has continued to perform well for the network in its current fifth season, drawing healthy ratings on Sunday nights against formidable competition.
Inspired by Janette Oke's book of the same name, When Calls the Heart takes place in the early 20th century and follows a young teacher from a wealthy eastern family who moves to a small western coal mining town for her first classroom assignment.
The series is the cable channel's oldest original drama currently on the air, and will hit the 50-episode mark when it airs its fifth-season finale on April 22. The show's run has been notable in that it has managed to build its audience with year-over-year ratings gains in key demographics.
Look for Season 6 of When Calls the Heart in 2019.

You have months to change direction.

Honesty with the fans 18 months ago , with wedding and baby over that year then a recast would have worked. Talented cast and writers would have been able to do this. Better recast than death!!!!!!!

I hope Jack is still alive and there is a mistake but if not I would have him come back in goood and bad times to left the viewers know he is there watching over her and his child. It would have been nice if there would have been a seen if he would have came back as a spirit to say his good-bye to Elizabeth.

I hope that Jack is still alive in the end but if he can't be there in really life make his spirit be there in good times in bad so we know he is there watching out for Elizabeth and his new child.

I've been a devoted fan since the beginning. I've loved all the actors, but I love the story of Elizabeth & Jack. You wait so long for that wedding to take place, then OMG, Jack is off the show after that. Not a happy Fan. Please find a way for mistake in identity or whatever way for Jack's return. Hopefully he didn't want to leave the show. I think it only fair that you tell us fans what truly happened to kill off Jack's character. We deserve that much.

I've been watching the series since it came out and enjoyed it so much. I love all the characters in it, i felt bad that is seems like jack died. I wish there is a mistake. Elizabeth and jack seemed so happy together it would be cruel to kill him off. I hope it was a mistake. You don't have many family shows anymore on tv. Laury
