The superhero series ends after seven seasons.
April 29, 2022
Word is out that The CW has cancelled DC's Legends of Tomorrow after seven seasons. Co-showrunner Keto Shimizu took to Twitter this evening with the news, expressing her sadness about the cancellation as well as her gratitude towards those who worked on the show.
Premiering in 2016 as an ensemble series featuring characters spun-off from other DC Comics shows on the network, Legends of Tomorrow takes place in the same shared universe but with a time travel twist. The series has had an impressively long run, surpassing the 100-episode milestone during its now-final season.
The cancellation is The CW's second DC-based series to get the ax today. 'Batwoman' was also cancelled by the network after three seasons.

Once they got rid of Rip Hunter, the show got pretty good until season 5. Then the pandemic happened, and season 6 was pretty boring partly because of it (and partly because of the worst villain of all time), and it never really recovered.

I liked this show, but it has replaced almost every character that was cool with less exciting ones. PS They made Sara too cuddly.

Steve - I know what you mean. I remember the very first trailer for the show blew my mind. It looked so good. Well that turned out to be like the first 2 episodes and I petered out after that pretty quick.

This started out with a lot of hoopla and an all-star cast. Then the cast left and took the story with them. It should have ended a long time ago.

Wait, cancelling shows is an option for the CW? I thought everything just ran until the actors quit.

This show was very sci fi slapstick often. But fun a lot of times.. still I like straight superhero shows better. Like, Stargirl it is sooo good. Check it out.

Once all of the originals were gone, with the exception of Sara Lance, the show was doomed.
Of course once they got rid of Rip Hunter, and the show seriously weirded-out...
it was doomed.

I used to watch this but stopped when it got a little too weird for my liking. 100 episodes is impressive though.
