The Archie Comics-based drama will conclude in 2023.
May 19, 2022
The CW announced today that Riverdale will be ending after its seventh season. The news comes just one week after the network picked up the drama for Season 7, though there was no word on it being the final season at the time.
The series premiered in 2017 with a good amount of buzz that helped it become a breakout hit. Ratings were solid through its first few seasons, with it also finding a healthy audience on Netflix. The show recently surpassed the 100-episode milestone and is currently the CW's second-longest running drama.
Featuring re-imagined characters from Archie Comics, Riverdale follows Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead as they navigate their high school years, and later, their young adult lives. Look for the seventh and final season in 2023.

This show has been a little out there lately. Glad it’s ending on its own terms. Can you bring back In The Dark as a replacement.

I am surprised it stayed on this long. I stopped watching at around Season 3, at which time I lost all hope that this series is ever going to be embrace the fun aspect of Archie comics.

Is the last episode them all going to Prison? Each one has committed at least one murder, many did multiples. Not to mentions the drug dealing, running stables of hookers, being hookers, selling illegal booze in a underground nightclub, and just about everything else a wholesome, high school kid, does in Riverdale.

It already overstayed its welcome. I'm a fan of the show, especially in its earlier days, but it's gone downhill. I really wish they would have kept that Season 1 quality. Everyone else I know stopped watching a few seasons ago. It probably should have ended after Season 4 or 5.
whatever

It's time. The show is getting stale, the cast wants out. Congrats on a great run and not overstaying it's welcome. CW likes to do that. (Supernatural and The Flash for example)

The show started off very good and was ok for a few seasons. The whole Gargoyle season is when it went downhill for me.

The alternate universe thing with witches and monsters was bad, but I guess they wanted to explore the Afterlife storyline a bit. At least it was set in an alternate reality though. Now they are back to their main universe and are still doing this nonsense. Witches and Superheroes when no such thing existed in the first 4 seasons (and 11 or 12 years by timeline). The genre jump was is awful.
