The veteran reality series will be back next summer.
September 28, 2025
CBS has renewed Big Brother for a 28th season. The news was announced by host Julie Chen Moonves during tonight's season finale, which crowned the reality series' latest winner.
On the air for over two decades, the veteran series continues to be one of TV's top-rated reality shows. Airing three nights a week, its episodes consistently draw solid viewership against its prime time competition.
In each season of Big Brother, a group of people move into a house together under the watchful eye of dozens of cameras that record their every move 24 hours a day. Each week at least one houseguest is voted out until two remain. A jury of evicted houseguests then decide which of the two wins the $750,000 grand prize.
Look for Season 28 of Big Brother in the summer of 2026, with Julie Chen Moonves once again returning as host.

Nice "summer" entertainment.
Horrible cast - no one strong just misfits.
The show interferes way too much.
This year the worst player in Big Brother history won, a bully of a girl who did nothing to win.
Still gets good ratings, in-fact better than Survivor so this comes as no shock.
Fans are calling the show out on sm, telling them they are tired of the show manipulating outcomes
This show used to actually be about the competition, and showed the Have & Have-Not competitions. Alliances were smaller and didn't usually for for a week or two.
They used to bring people in, real people. Now it's just casting for conflict. Have to get one or everything. Have to make sure they get people who are going to have conflict with other people.
They will cast one person who only wears hats, and then cast one person who hates hats with their whole being.
I stopped watching years ago because it became more about casting people, creating artificial conflict, and people seemed to form huge alliances before they even speak with each other.
This show went from an actual reality competition, to a scripted piece of garbage.
The casting is just horrible now... boring people without any real personality. Mostly self-absorbed and arrogant individuals. Then throw in the one loser hipster still living in mom's basement and the one older individual. Same old competitions for 27 seasons... there's no creativity or desire to make this entertaining any longer.. and there's WAY TOO MUCH OF IT during a week.
I'd much rather see 5hrs of Survivor or The Amazing Race in a week than this crap.
