A drama following a multi-generational family of New York City cops.
Frank Reagan is the Police Commissioner of New York and head of the Reagan clan. He tries to run his department in the same diplomatic manner he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his father during his stint as Chief.
Frank's eldest son Danny is a seasoned detective and family man who, at times, uses dubious tactics to investigate his cases. The sole female in the family is Erin, an Assistant District Attorney and newly single mother, who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father.

Readers' Digest version of cop drama. Short condensed stories that often pack more of a dramatic punch than most other long drawn-out cop shows.
And it's not a one-sided preachy show. Most of those Sunday dinners have opposing views of social issues expressed by different characters, occasionally quite heated.

Sorry, Danny. I am NOT Catholic but I appreciate the values they hold and the fact the family is shown in each episode sitting together and having a family meal. Bring back "their" values and this tradition and our country would be much, much better off. Great characters and superb acting. Keep the show for the many, many fans who appreciate a wholesome "the good guys get the bad guys" and let the "Danny factors" watch The Outlaw Country. To each his (or her) own.

Im adictive to this show. Clean and not so much gorey stuff like crimanal mind. That show needs to go first. I love watching blue. Dont take it off.

Please cancel this show. I am sick of its preachy Catholicism. There is so much wrong with this show. Tom Selleck is not old enough to be the Dad of all of these kids in their 40's and 30's unless he was 15 when the first one was born. The actor playing grandpa is only 9 years older than Tom Selleck? True, check it out. Tom Selleck's hair is Jet Black and he is how old again? The monster mustache is so 80's. The little round sunglasses Tom wears are so 90's. Does he really wear a trench coat and three piece suits in July? Is Danny the only cop doing his job in NYC that he single handily solves every crime in the city in the period of 60 minutes each week? The family has every single Sunday meal together - really? What if you didn't want to come? What if Jamie was gay? What if someone in the family was an atheist? How would the perfect American Catholic family handle that? That might be more realistic and reflect an American family. I watched the show for several seasons but it just kept getting more preachy and more unrealistic. Time to put this one to bed.

Blue Bloods is a good show --please do not cancel it. Some of the so called comedy shows are not worth watching.

CBS Keep Blue Bloods Great and interesting Plots. I had a cousin who was a Detroit cop 12th Pre and a uncle who was a walking cop in the Motor City. So your story lines are similar. Keep up the good work.
