Jay Hernandez is JUST good enough but the best characters are played by Perdita Weeks and Tim Kang. I have always enjoyed Kang's deadpan delivery. Higgins being a woman was a great idea for setting the new show apart from the old.

I feel show has some kinks to workout but have enjoyed the episodes so far. Let’s try to give it a chance. Hernandez is no Tom Selleck but he isn’t bad.

I'm a episode and a half in this new series, sorry I can't watch this anymore. No one but two Ferrari's trashed in the first episode, if I was Robin Masters, Magnum would be history.
The female higgins is the only character of interest, however in the old series, Magnum was always playing pranks and messing with him. You can't do that here, not with a female character. Such a cruical dyamic of the old series, completely lost. BIG MISTAKE....HUGE MISTAKE.
This may turn out to be the biggest disappoint since "The Bionic Woman" remake, that lasted 8 episodes I think.
The feel and looks needs to radically change or this will not pull the crowds, just look at the reviews here, it tells you all you need to know.

Watched 1st episode. Didn't care for the show. Won't watch. I remember the "real" Magnum P. I. CBS leaves a lot to be desired anymore. I don't watch much on CBS anymore.

Nothing special. Not an encouraging pilot. A yawn plot and lame bantering.

There are enough of us still alive. You people in the production end of the "hollywood machine" need to make sure there is no one still around to remember the really good shows before you try to recreate a new version.....The only things worth watching on this version of the classic are the Dobermans. Get 'em guys.

When viewed through the prism of the original 80's show, the new characters are without depth. Like a group of middle schoolers dressing up like "hippies" and doing pretend protest marches, the characters seem to be aware they the in a weak re-work of a once-number-one show and are doing what they think they should be doing, the cast too young to know the interface of the show to its era.
This show, like so many others, should have been left alone.
