The hit reality series gets another two seasons.
August 10, 2016
As it did in 2014, CBS announced today that Big Brother has been renewed for another two seasons - its 19th and 20th. The popular reality show continues to dominate the summer, consistently winning its time slots and having all three of its weekly episodes rank in the top 5 programs among adults 18-34.
Today's news comes one week after the first-ever digital edition of Big Brother was announced exclusively for CBS All Access, the network's streaming video-on-demand service. That version of the show will act as an extension of the brand, with a shorter run in the fall and tweaks to its format, rather than an official season.
Julie Chen will be staying on as host of Big Brother, for both the digital edition and Seasons 19 and 20. Look for Season 19 next summer, with Season 20 airing in the summer of 2018.

I love Big Brother! I've never missed an episode since the beginning of Season 2. Watching the live feeds makes it much more enjoyable than if you only watch the primetime CBS broadcast. It allows you to really get the know the houseguests. While many think last season was boring, I found them to be the most entertaining, inventive fun and creative games to pass the time ("Pop Ball, Pop Ball!!"). So far this season has been much less entertaining. I'm not very computer-savvy so I'm rather disappointed that there will be a streaming version of the show. I will more likely miss it because I have no idea how to access it. I'm afraid CBS will be losing many regular viewers with an online version of the game. Thank goodness it will still be on the regular network at least for the next two summers!

Last season was super boring. Everyone just went with the house. This season things have been shaken up almost every episode. I've been enjoying it. Watched every season since 2, except for the one with Jesse, only watched about a quarter of that one.

I think the "orgy" season scared CBS. It was fun to watch but I'm sure a censorship and editing nightmare. The contestants they've had since then have been notably tame. (and they bring back past players because they are still under contract with CBS and need ANYONE to fill the spots.)

I watched the first episode of this season and stopped watching when I found out they brought back previous contestants. I hate it when they bring back previous contestants who already had their 15 minutes of fame. Why do they need to bring them back?

How can this garbage get renewed while good shows get cancelled? What is this world coming too?????

I'm kind of surprised. I'm a huge fan and have been watching for years and years, and most fans agree this season is absolutely awful and last year wasn't fantastic either. Fans are very unhappy with the casting for the past several years because they keep bringing in people who don't know the game and they end up not really playing and are therefore very boring to watch.
But I guess if they're still making money they'll keep making the show...
