No Season 3 for the time travel drama.
June 22, 2018
It's a sad day for the #Clockblockers out there, as NBC has once again cancelled Timeless. The move marks the second straight year that the network has pulled the plug on the series, only this time there will be no reversal of its decision.
Fans of the action drama had been holding out hope since last month's finale that a third season may be in the cards. And like last year, the show ended on another major cliffhanger that might not ever be resolved. I say 'might' because there have reportedly been discussions between NBC and the show's producers about a possible two-hour movie that would properly conclude the story and give fans the closure they undoubtedly would appreciate. Talks are still ongoing, but the likelihood of it actually happening is unknown.
Timeless premiered in 2016 with a good amount of momentum behind it. Created by two veteran producers, the series was given a high profile time slot on Monday nights along with heavy promotion. While it was well-received by critics, a solid start in the ratings was not long-lasting, and ratings slipped over the course of its run leaving only a limited audience who kept tuning in. And while NBC eventually decided to bring the show back for a second season, its numbers only got worse this time around.
Timeless follows a team of time travelers who were chasing down a mysterious criminal intent on changing the past in order to destroy America. The team works to keep up with the dangerous fugitive to stop his path of destruction, while being careful not to let their actions adversely affect the past.

This is the best show on television I am so sad and mad right now. Please Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, or some other please pick it up. Save timeless. A 2 hr movie is not enough it needs another season full season. It was on at 10 on a Monday and then Sunday, it is so intense it would be impossible to fall asleep after so I could not watch it live. I did I would not fall asleep until like 2am that would not be good each week. On at bad time they think it’s a great time slot it’s not.

The problem is though that the advertising is what keeps a show going. ( meaning that’s how a Network gets paid )The people who DVR it and watch it later just burn through the commercials so they don’t count that. The advertisers want to know that people are actually watching the advertisements. It’s that simple sadly. So the ratings only matter for the people who are watching it real time and in turn are actually watching the advertising. Otherwise there’s no point in advertising and then no one makes money.

What a disappointing decision - AGAIN... I'm more disappointed that it sounds like it's really dead and another network won't pick it up. It's one of those few shows that actually made me curious about historical events to the point where I would Google them and read more.
Thank you to the cast and crew for coming up with an inventive way to uncover interesting moments in history! I'm going to miss this show!

This time I agree. The show after the first cancellation was not as good as the first season. Probably since the actors seemed to not really care this time since they probably knew it was likely to get axed again.

Come on people already! Stop cancelling good shows and renewing the same crap over and over again! Do we really need 10 cop dramas? 15 er dramas? Multiple firefighter shows? No! But heaven forbid someone come up with an original idea! People might actually watch that! The people already spoke up once, why can't you just listen? And before anyone mentions the ratings, if I remember correctly the ratings don't reflect dvr recordings. Not everyone can watch shows right as they air. Come up with a way to show that and you would have different ratings.
Sorry for my rant. I'm just sick of so many of the shows I enjoy watching getting canceled while 50 million of the same unoriginal shows are being renewed as we speak.

Bummer. Really enjoyed this show and they left it on one hell of a cliffhanger.

and yet they keep BLACKLIST and Blindspot both shows that I watched until they started to suck. Who runs this Network? Bad decision.

Well we end up with a cliff hanger ending again. If NBC lost money on the series. Why would they bother to give us a 2 hour movie ending? And netflix or amazon.com won't save this one either. IT's done.
