NBC announced today that Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has been renewed for Season 25. It's the first pickup of the show in three years after it was handed a three-season order back in 2020.

While not a surprise given the show's continued strong performance, the news does extend the veteran procedural's already-record-setting run as American television's longest-running scripted live-action series. It will surpass the 550-episode mark next year.

Franchise mates 'Law & Order' and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' were also renewed today. Look for all three this fall as part of the 2023-2024 season.
