The veteran medical drama will return this fall.
March 30, 2026
ABC announced today that Grey's Anatomy has been picked up for a 23rd season. Coming with three episodes left in the current season, the renewal extends the show's record as prime time's longest-running medical drama.
On the air since 2005, the Shonda Rhimes series continues to be a solid performer in ABC's lineup. While its linear ratings aren't what they were in its prime, the show does draw a strong streaming audience.
Grey's Anatomy follows the doctors working at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. The staff of attending physicians, residents, and surgical interns are faced with all types of medical cases, from trivial to life-threatening. While furthering their careers, they learn and grow from the patients they treat and the relationships they form with each other.
Look for Season 23 of Grey's Anatomy this fall as part of ABC's 2026-2027 lineup.

Gave up on this show 10 years ago but happy for the viewers to see the renewal.
