The long-running naval procedural will be back for 2018-2019.

CBS announced today that NCIS has been renewed for a 16th season. The news coincides with a new 2-year deal signed by star and executive producer Mark Harmon to remain on the veteran drama.
One of the network's most-successful series of all-time, NCIS continues to maintain its flagship status. Along with being the top drama on CBS for nearly a decade, it holds the distinction of being the world's most-watched drama in recent years according to research company Eurodata TV Worldwide. The show's next episode will see it reach an impressive 350 total episodes.
Originating from a concept and characters that were initially introduced in a two-part episode of the CBS series JAG, NCIS was originally referred to as Navy NCIS in its first season. The series follows the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which is the primary law enforcement and counter-intelligence arm of the United States Department of the Navy. Together, the team works in high-stress situations while dealing with often-complex and always-amusing personal dynamics.

I didn't think I'd stay with it after Zeda left. But I readjusted. I was sure I'd quit after DeNozzo left, but I adjusted again. I realized that it's not just about the actors, if you've got a decent story line and good actors, it can still be a show worth watching. I'll be sorry to see Abby leave, but if they cast well, I'll stick with it cause i like the show.

This show affirmative action is a terrible thing. Black b actors playing authority figures is a joke.

Gee, theres a shock... In all seriousness though I will admit I still watch every episode, but more of a "Sunday Tradition" than for pure entertainment these days. The chemistry that made Kate-Tony-Tim has long gone. Ducky and Vance need to go - i love Mallard and loathe Vance, but both charactors are more background noise than anything else these days. Im still in, but its not high on my TiVo pass.

Got bored of this show in the Di Nozzo era. Is Ducky still alive?

Of course the old fogies like it.. it's merely Murder She Wrote for the new millennium. Same formula every episode... no "brain power" needed. And apparently no creative power needed from CBS either.

Love the show! We never miss it. I even prefer their reruns over some of the newer choices.
