The naval procedural will be back for 2023-2024.
February 21, 2023
CBS announced today that NCIS has been renewed for Season 21. The news comes as the network's flagship series is set to hit the 450-episode mark next week.
On the air since 2003, the show is one of CBS' most successful series of all-time, ranking as the longest-running drama currently on the network. It has two spin-offs on the air, 'NCIS: Los Angeles,' which will be ending this spring, and 'NCIS: Hawai'i,' which was also renewed today. An upcoming international spin-off, 'NCIS: Sydney,' is coming this year to Paramount+.
Originating from a concept and characters that were initially introduced in a two-part episode of the CBS series 'JAG,' NCIS was originally referred to as 'Navy NCIS' in its first season. The series follows the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which is the primary law enforcement and counter-intelligence arm of the United States Department of the Navy. Together, the team works in high-stress situations while dealing with often-complex and always-amusing personal dynamics.
Look for Season 21 of NCIS as part of the 2023-2024 television season this fall.

@Bonkers: There is always somebody with a stupid comment about renewals.Glad to see the trend continue. Without Hetty to play off these guys are just useless.Abouty time they stuck a fork in NCIS LA.

Still manages to have some fresh episodes and Parker has been a great replacement for Gibbs, so very different from him. They still manage to keep the core of the show good though.

Gotta say, not been a big fan of the new "Parker Show," especially that last episode with the pills. Huge fan of Gary Cole and Law, but i think its time for the old guard to shuffle off completely (Ducky, Vance, and the ghost of Gibbs) otherwise this is feeling more wash-rinse-repeat than compelling television. Personally i would have been happier if they kept LA and dropped the original, still flattly refuse to watch NCIS-5-0...

So they cancel LA but keep this crap on.

One of the very few links left to the golden age of broadcast TV. With all the changes somehow it still keeps its core.

I honestly thought this show wasn't going to make it or be any good once Gibbs and Co. was gone. But the new group they brought in work perfectly with the McGee and Palmer characters that it could actually give life to this series for another five years if done right.
Over the course of 20+ seasons, you're going to have slow, boring seasons that you just want to end. But they've done a great job of keeping it fresh with the new crop of people.
