The veteran drama will conclude in 2024.

CBS announced today that Blue Bloods will be coming to an end after its upcoming 14th season, which premieres in February. The now-final season will air in two parts, with Part 2 concluding the drama's story in the fall of 2024.
"Blue Bloods will forever be a beloved part of CBS' legacy. It ruled Friday nights with unprecedented dominance since its premiere and established itself as a pillar of our winning lineup with an exceptionally devoted fan base," said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment and David Stapf, president of CBS Studios. "We'll be forever grateful to the legendary Leonard Goldberg for developing this signature series and to the amazing cast led by Tom Selleck, who America embraced as family and watched as welcomed guests at the Reagan dinner table. We also sincerely thank the incredible writing and producing teams guided by executive producer Kevin Wade, for years of compelling episodes as they conceive this final chapter that we expect to be the most satisfying season yet for our loyal viewers."
Blue Bloods stars Selleck as Frank Reagan, the Police Commissioner of New York, who runs his department in the same diplomatic manner he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his father during his stint as Chief. His three grown children also work in various branches of law enforcement. While their lives keep them busy, they all manage to gather together every week for Sunday dinner.
Part 1 of the final 14th season of Blue Bloods premieres on Friday, February 16.

This is really no surprise last season it seemed like they were reaching for storylines. When you been around this long what more is it to tell so I expected it would be ending sooner than later. Also, Tom Selleck has expressed because of health issues he was ready to leave the show.

I am sad about this news but the show had a great run. I read all the comments so far and to those flaming CBS for "cancelling" Blue Bloods, or blaming the strikes, that's not the case here. CBS would be happy to keep this going forever. Likely it is Tom Selek who is ready to call it a career and the show is nothing without him. Him and gramps are both up there in age and it would be a shame for one or botb of them to die during the run and they have to write that into the show. This is a good time to call it quits and end on a high note. Love this show and the whole cast. Awesome run and looking forward to seeing one last season of Reagan family dinners.

CBS wants to save money? Guess how I save money? I subscribe to Netflix. I add/drop HBO MAX at will. I dumped Showtime and Paramount+. If you wait a year all the Showtime/Paramount+ shows come to DVD, which you can borrow from the library. CBS will keep putting out cheaper NCIS shows with less star power so it can make more money.

This isn't much of a surprise, honestly. There's been a lot of rumours about Tom Selleck having health problems that could end his acting career for the past year or two, and, well, his character is so integral to the premise of the show that it'd be a nightmare to replace him. If there's any truth to those rumours, then it's probably better to end the show on their own terms than waiting too long, having to rework everything (which almost never ends well) and sputtering to an end via cancellation.

What an impressive run. I've never seen it, but I might binge-watch now. And I always appreciate when networks give adequate notice and allow a show time to wrap things up appropriately.

There is little I watch on live TV now, so very few advertisements cross my eyes, which is bad for advertisers. Advertisers bring money to these channels and the way the channels are disaffecting viewers, I feel it will not be too long before their income is reduced dramatically. This will inevitably lead to worse programming and fewer viewers, and so the downward spiral sets in.
R.I.P. Blue Bloods, it has been a real pleasure to join you on the ride along. I will miss all the cast and the stories that gave me a break from the mundane.
